Joe Byczek, President
Prior to starting Casey Rooney Development
in 1999, Joe spent over a decade in real estate lending and development.
While finishing his MBA at Northwestern University's Kellogg School
of Management, Joe was hired by Corus Bank to do lending to developers
in the city of Chicago. He eventually joined one of his clients,
JDL Development, to do all of their financials and to look for new
deals. Over time, his role in the firm grew to include project management,
marketing, customer service, building design and even legal work.
He oversaw the construction of multiple $2.5 million homes in Lincoln
Park, a large condo and townhouse development in the South Loop,
as well as other residential and commercial projects throughout
Chicago. Today, Joe applies the knowledge and expertise acquired
during these years to everything he does at Casey Rooney.
Joe holds a degree in Finance
from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign and an MBA from
Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management.
Jane Byczek, Vice President
Jane oversees the design strategies and customer
relations at Casey Rooney. Before joining Joe and starting Casey
Rooney, Jane spent ten years developing her management expertise
as a library manager in various suburban libraries including the
Oak Park Public Library and the Hinsdale Public Library. She also
worked as a Library Consultant for the American Library Association
and as an adjunct faculty member and Dominican University. She holds
a degree in English, Psychology, and Secondary Education from the
University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign and a Masters Degree
in Library and Information Sciences from the University of Illinois
at Urbana Champaign.
Jane became involved in the development field
when Joe lost a Selection Assistant at JDL and needed a quick replacement.
What was a temporary job soon became permanent as Jane found that
she enjoyed the work and enjoyed working with Joe. After assisting
hundreds of clients in selections for their condos and town homes,
she and Joe designed and built their first home in Clarendon Hills.
Since then, she has worked on the design of over 15 homes.

What’s
in a Name?
Considering that our last name is Byczek, we’re often asked
where the name Casey Rooney Development came from. We never wanted
the company to just be about us, but about our family and life as
a whole. Jane’s maiden name is Rooney. Joe’s father's
first name is Casimir, but he goes by Casey. Not only does the combination
of names sound nice, but it’s a lot easier to spell than Byczek.
